Davison fellow scholarship

Part 1: This initial stage requires one to briefly describe the project to ensure that it qualifies for the scholarship. Then one needs to fill out their demographic information and materials for submission through a category of choice.

After the application for part 1 is submitted, it will take 1-2 business days to be approved. It is advised to submit the Part 1 application as soon as possible, so there is more time to fill out the second portion of the application. After the Part 1 application is approved, you will receive an email to prompt you to continue with the next portion of the application.

Part 2: Part 2 involves sending nominators a Nominating Form for them to fill out and parental information.

• The scholarship will be awarded based on the significance of the project. Significance is determined by meaningful work identified by an industry expert and is possible for a positive contribution to society. Some of the examples include:

  • creative application of established knowledge

  • innovative solution that can be broadly applied

  • an interdisciplinary discovery

  • an important advance that can be replicated and built upon

• The project, no matter the discipline, needs to be at the college graduate level with an especially in-depth knowledge about their particular area of study.

• Science (specific scientific subject such as physics,biology and etc)

• Technology (hardware or software computer science)

• Engineering (specific engineering subjects such as electrical, mechanical and etc)

• Mathematics (specific math subjects such as calculus, geometry, etc)

• Literature (writing, this category requires three entries consisting of any combination of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama or screenplay)

• Music (musical performance or arrangement)

• Philosophy

• Outside the Box (for those who excel in a specific work that does not fit into one of the other categories)
